We worked with and continue to work with Spirit of Women on an ongoing project called “Place of Courage – Ripples Across Australia”. This project is committed to recognizing the ongoing effects of domestic violence in our community and aims to have outreach artworks in as many council areas as possible.
A ripple is an appropriate idea and visual to use because while it is a perfect analogy for the pervasive effects of domestic violence and it’s far reaching effect it is also, by its nature, a great representation of how positive actions of love, kindness and care go on to help many.
This peaceful and simple design comprising of hand carved ripples on a cut Adelaide Black Granite boulder with a dedication around the outside ripple edge.
“Dedicated to all who have died, all who have suffered, and all who are still suffering from domestic and family violence. May you find comfort and healing here.”
